Beit HaB’ar, located at Herzl Street 138, was built in the 19th century. The building was recognized as requiring preservation and received documentation
and preservation within the architectural planning of Nour Mimar. In 2018, the structure suffered damage due to heavy rains and winds, causing its roof to
collapse along with an entire wing of the building. Faced with the threat of destruction, contractor Avner Galad was called upon to intervene and save the
building.
Preservation and Restoration using “frseco” Materials:
The building is constructed using limestone blocks, hence an airy lime plaster – Weber Naturale lime mortar, also known as coarse Spanish plaster, was applied.
For the basement level, a moisture-resistant lime plaster – Weber.san.avocal, was utilized. The building was painted using potassium silicate paint – KEIM Granital
mineral paint.
For reinforcing the stone in the basement, consolidator CFC-102 and consolidator
OH were employed, with added hydration using pottery dust within the plaster.
The executing contractor: Avner Galad – Building Conservation and Restoration.
